a little love for valentines day
the holiday may be cheesy to some, annoying for others, or some peoples fav. day.....but no matter how youre feeling about February 14th, I feel its a fun day to just celebrate being happy with the one i love. Its our 2nd official married valentines day but i love him more and more all the time. He's charming, sweet, affectionate, funny, sarcastic, adventurous, insanely smart, insanely talented in sooooo many areas, handy, a good kisser....i could go on and on really. But ill keep this short and sweet. He's an AMAZING MAN and i feel so lucky to have him in my life.

and of course valentines is not just for my hubby, valentines is a day to celebrate ALL those you love!!! Besides having an amazing husband, i have the most incredible, supportive, loving family. My friends are irreplaceable. I wish i got to see them in person all the time like i want but for now i guess the phones will have to do. I LOVE YOU ALL.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!!

test recap.
soooo finally the day has come and that DREADED test is over. Sadly, i did not do nearly as well as i had wanted but im hoping my better math, versus verbal, combined with what will hopefully be a decent essay (those scores wont be in for weeks) will be sufficient for PA school.....cause i do NOT want to take that again. Let me explain.....
1.) The test prep material urges you to be sure to stay calm, breath, bring water and a snack to keep stamina, wear layers to offset the room temp, etc. etc. Im not sure how testing centers overall are, but ours did not follow this regimen AT ALL. you get there, stand in line while he explains the testing process one by one while the clock ticks away and youre confidence diminishes. Then after filling out a form (which makes you write a paragraph in cursive as proof of who knows what) to bring back to the line before beginning.
all that important prep stuff you brought- must be locked in a locker....you cant even take in your own pencils???? im sorry but using one of those crappy slick pencils you used to win at putt putt with half an eraser from the last testers troubles hardly seems condusive. I couldnt even bring in my coat b/c as the instructors says...it you wear it in you wear it in the ENTIRE 4 hours?
2.) you get one 10 minute break TOTAL. After the writing stuff you can choose to take 10 mins for a bathroom break, stretch etc. So thats 1 bathroom break in 4 hours- now normally i dont go often but stress makes you feel the urge all the time- i dont get it, ive studied it but still its a bit weird. You are allowed to go during the other sections if you MUST but you cannot pause your time on the clock. I knew that going into it so i didnt have to go but some people have small bladders....they shouldn't get penalize for biology (which incidentally was not on the test....thanks a lot from all us SCIENCE majors whos fields of study did not help much in prep for this test) ;)
3.) I understand its necessary but to have cameras on every angle on that room makes it feel more like a prison than a testing facility. at least make them inconspicuous....really? and dont even think about stretching b/c apparently that means you need something and the test dude will come up to you and break your concentration multiple times throughout the test :)
So basically what i am saying is that i dont feel that too much weight should be put on this test.....the environment and high-stress, high security setting is just unerving and distracting.....you feel like your doing something wrong the whole time......its like when your not speeding but you still slow down when you pass a cop.
BUT, on a better note.......its OVER! im relieved, it can do things i want to do now like catch up on phone calls, use my cricut, play on facebook without feeling guilty..... :) it really was an experience that i can add to the repertoire. i can honestly say from experience now that the test is challenging AND it is extremely difficult to get into test mode when you havent taken one in over a year! i cant imagine how hard it would be 10 years out, or if kids are in the pic. kuddos to you folks out there.
Hope you enjoy my satirical post :) Now hopefully i can get back to fun blogging ;)

Time not flying
so since deciding to revamp this as more of an actual blog ive only done one post. my goal is to keep this more up to date to keep it entertaining and well, up to date for my 4 readers ;)
HOWEVER, sadly my last few weeks have be consumed with an activity i would much rather do without.......

yep thats all ive been doing other than work, working out, and the occasional netflicks tv program. and i can say with almost full confidence after all the studying so far this is how i feel....

thats right, i may be a cute puppy but i am overwhelmed and not optomistic...... lets all pray for me.....2 weeks to go!

a new look to the blog
So i have made an executive decision. Due to the recent changes in photo uploading and the larger viewing of facebook, i have decided to discontinue the Project 365 from the blog and instead use the blog as it was more intended.....to blog about fun outing, random thoughts, quotes i like, shout outs, etc. etc. therefore, I think its appropriate to start out with a fun weekend outing:
Brent and I just recently celebrated our 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY. Yes, December 20, 2008 Brent and I tied the knot and this year has FLOWN by. It has been an amazing year and i cannot wait to see what else the future has in store for us.
anyway, back to the story of the anniversary. Because it is so close to Christmas it makes it rather difficult to "get away" for the weekend near the anniversary due to lack of time, money, etc. So, we elected to take a trip for our anniversary at a later date (which as of the moment will be snowboarding in Washington) and just spend the weekend in one of our favorite Texas cities with some of our favorite people... my sister Kristen and Brother-in-Law Justin.
lets stick with pics now as i take you through the day..........
1. we made a nice stop at the World Famous Round Rock donuts. I honestly didn't know this place existed until i was watching Man vs Food a few months back but it looked so tempting we had to check it out. and let me assure you it did NOT disappoint :)

2. Next we scuttled across town to one of our fav. Austin places Trudy's...the reason we like Trudys so much is 1. the food is tasty, 2. they serve breakfast, mexican, and american food so everyones happy 3. its a nice setting.

3. We stopped in at The Parkers to hang out with Kristen and Tigger for a little while before deciding our next move. Sadly Justin was called out to work early Sat. morning so he wasnt able to join us just yet. After chatting for a bit we landed on a tour of the Capital. I've lived in Texas my entire life, visited Austin many many time and yet i'd never been.

4. After playing in and outside the capital we headed down the street towards campus. ironically, we ended up taking a tour of Kristen and Justins engagment session settings.
5. We caught up with Justin and headed out to Rounders Pizza for dinner. Pizza was great but Parker did have a little incident with the ENORMOUS water jugs they called glasses

6. another local eatery i have discovered i like is Amy's Ice Cream. I actually discovered it in the airport but nonetheless the Mexican Vanilla is delish.

7. After stuffing our face over and over for the day we decided to conclude with a Festive Christmas Firework show at the Domain. We are all unsure why they were having Fireworks really but it was an event and it was exciting.

On Sunday our actual anniversary, we just hung around the house, watched our wedding video, looked at pictures, ate what was suprisingly tasty year old wedding cake, and just enjoyed the day. it was a great weekend all around!

Sunday brent and i decided to give our cars the TLC they so desperately deserved..first a nice scrub at home and then a field trip to the car wash to make em shine. the scrub brush was an odd contraption so i took a little shot of it and i really like the way it turned out..and the pink halo it has around the brush. lol

187
Brent and i wanted to enjoy every ounce of daylight we could on the weekend so we did the fun fall thing- threw a football around in the park and watched the ducks.lol the camera was not hurt during the making of this shot, however i did get hit a few times :) no worries its a nice shot

186
Friday night i went over to Alisas for a jewelry party! I had an amazing time chatting with some wonderful ladies and trying on tons of wonderful jewelry

185
they have a light up moose at Target. i need this to complete my christmas....granted, im working on finding a spot for the christmas tree at this point but in my opinion, theres always room for anther moose in my place :)

184
as i was walking through the halls on wed towards my office i saw smoke on the lawn. turns out i found out the S&W's lawn is the graveyard for random dry ice...who knew

183
Erin made us a delicious spinach dip and chicken and dumplings dinner for our date night! i helped by stiring things and eating crackers :)
