happy birthday kristen

a little shout out to my sister for her 27th birthday!! Hope it was wonderful! id post a picture but by the time it loaded it wouldnt be her birthday anymore so this will have to do. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

impromtu beach trip!

Day 77
last day on the beach :( but i am so glad that i was here this morning as opposed to in the office :) we had an awesome, laid-back weekend. it was wonderful!!! thanks cat!

Day 76
Day 2 of our mini vaca was spent mostly on the beach of course but we did decided to get out of the heat during the middle of the day and head over to the strand. Neither of us had been back since hurricane ike back in sept so we were curious to see if everything was coming back together. thought a lot of business have reopened there is still a ton of downtown getting fix or cleared away still. The buildings even had "ike water lines" to see how bad flooding was....the line was about a foot taller than me so i cant imagine what the whole area was like only a few months ago. cat and i decided to take a pic with a happy, bright backdrop that survived and it turned out to be one of our better self pics of the weekend.

Day 75
So my awesome friend Cat and I decided to go down to Galveston for an impromptu beach weekend. We had a blast just relaxing at the beach, walking in the sand, eating delicious coast cuisine and laughing... a lot! So here day 1 of the adventure, yes its not of us but this cute family came and "beached" next to us. their kids were more excited to use thier shovels than they were of the ocean. I took some shots and this one turned out really great so i thought id share it.

wow- updates less than a week apart!

Day 74
Brent and I finally finished our puzzle!!! we are so cool

Day 73
This picture just makes me laugh....this is what we really do at work :)  i like how we fashioned the exam table for serving purposes.

Day 72
So in an ironic twist for the week heres a lauren picture from studio for today. Brent had to go work for a little while before dinner so i decided to just tag along. For a well deserved mental break these guys configured a makeshift basketball goal- after i left and days since they have perfected the goal and the stakes.

aaaaaannd again

Day 71
me and my neighbor leslie went for a stroll around the neighborhood

Day 70
We have been waiting for rain here in Texas for quite some time. today, texas made up for lost time....this storm came out of nowhere, brought hail, funnel clouds, and tons of water, and it provided needed nourishment for our plant! sadly i dont think it did enough.

Day 69
i was soo excited today b/c i got to see my Grandaddy! i havent seen him in a while but i love going out to the farm and hanging out with him. wh
ile i was waiting for mom, dad, and him to get out to the house i decided to get out and take some pictures...the cows were very intrigued by my actions. i especially like Squints in the corner there

Day 68
I went to my beautiful friend Amanda's (in the green) wedding shower Sat. in Henderson. i had fun and got to see a bunch of my lovely friends a
t the same time. it was like the old days- i loved it! anyway while at the shower we split into teams to make attractive gowns for these models. these dresses were not only fashion forward but flush-able to boot
.

here ya go

Day 67
ok so i'll be honest, i forgot to take a picture on Friday. between a crazy day at work and driving 3 hours to henderson it slipped my mind. however, mom and dad did talk about their fun vacation to Seattle and Canada when i got in and gave me some fun moose memorabilia! so here is brent modeling the super fun gifts they were sweet enough to bring me!

Day 66
a fun shot of Brent and I's little stroll around the apartment complex

Day 65
Not that great of a shot but documents our fantastic spot in line for Harry Potter! i love these faces....everyone has their own emotion for dear old HP.

Day 64
Brent and i were out running errands so we stopped in for a little cheap orange chicken. I love a the little pandas!

honest scrap

I shall appease my girls by completing my 1o :)

The Rules:
1. Tell your readers 10 things that are true that they might not know.
2. Tag 10 other bloggers to do the same. (i dont really have many more to make do this but i may rustle up a few)

1. This one really isnt something you might know but i just have to say it cause its wonderful... i have the best husband a girl could ask for! they say that the first year is the hardest...if thats the case then i cant wait for the rest of our lives. i am so blessed to have Brent

1. I am in an interim stage currently where i feel restless. I'm not sure if I still want to pursue a career leaning towards medicine (which was the goal for 5 years now) or if i want to go more towards the art mindset. I love being creative and having a little more "liberty" reagarding my work. However medicine is steady, challenging, and you help people....so as of now who knows.

2. I cannot get enough mountains. One of my many traveling goals is to see them on multiple continents. I'd like to make of course all the US ranges, Canadian ones, Europe, South America, etc. etc. I dont think i could ever get tired of them

3. I really fear becoming old and boring. I understand that having a family tames you a bit but i hope even after babies and ageing bones i can still maintain a bit of fire and fiestiness for life.

4. I regret that i dont enjoy recreational reading more. I'm trying to do a little everday but i just get some side tracked so easily :)

5. I have recently learned that i was oblivious to some health conditions i had..... hypothyroidism and super high tyglycerides. so with this now in front of me i have decided that I am making a new eating and work out regimen for Brent and myself so that we can be productive, happy, youthful people. the more i talk with some of my patients the more adament i am becoming about this new revelation.

6. i'm a closet singer. i have this weird thing where i get extremely nervous singing in front of people...sometimes even Brent.....but i absolutely LOVE singing. ive been trying for years to get over my fear but so far i havent advanced as much as i wouldve hoped. im working though. for now ill just say my shower performances are my best work :)

7. i really regret that i dont get to spend more time with my family and friends. I try to make calls and make visits but i truly miss those lazy weekends just hanging out at the rents, or out at grandaddys farm, or those old random tuesday night just sitting and wathcing tv and telling embarrasing stories with my girls.

8. I'm very big on heirlooms and family momentos. This is why i think i'm a bit of a packrat and why i take sooo many pictures. im not sure when the "condition" first started. i think my main motivation as a child our family doesnt have that many heirlooms or pictures of my ancestors so i wanted to save stuff so that 20, 50, 100 year later my decedants will know a little more about me than i do about them. i think its a good reason but sometimes it gets a little ridiculous some of the usless crap that i find stored in boxes from back in the day. lol

9. I want to take 2 big road trips across the us. one to the west and one to the east. we hope to at least do one of these trips before we start having babies. ive already starting mapping out the course for the west coast trip :) hopefully we can make it a reality soon

10. as much as i do not like to admit it, i like doing these survey thingys! :)

hope this was as invigorating for you .....

I'm going to assign Cat and Morgan to do this since they are the only other ladies who might do it :) love you!

i love harry potter

I'm going to keep these short and sweet......well try at least...well see
Day 63
another fun shot from my trips around the apartment complex

Day 62
Rick and I out for an afternoon at the driving range

Day 61
Brent, Kevin, Clint and I made an impromptu trip to Houston encouraged by their architecture profs to get some allusive supplies. We decided to make a trip of it so as well as the art supply store we also stopped by the Galleria for some Cheesecake Factory and shopping. Clint really wanted a paif of these!

Day 60
movie night.....finally saw Transformers 2 and i loved it! cheesy of course but i liked the action

Day 59
so we have some wild pets that make a nightly appearance on our outside window, this guy was particuarly friendly tonight

Day 58
I got my wonderful friend Amandas wedding invitation in the mail and i must say it is one of the most organized invitations ive ever seen :)

Day 57
treating ourselves to some Pei Wei....we ate late enough that it actually felt better outside than the "freezer" inside

Day 56
one of those moods where i didnt want to go anywhere but didnt want to be cooped up in the house. So i took a walk around the neighboorhood and found some fun unintentional art....peace sign

another week down!

Day 55
for the first time in over a month and a half....ladies and gentlemen....it has finally REALLY RAINED in Texas. heres your proof....brent and i drive right through the heart of it all....

Day 54
what is the fourth of July without sun, friends, food, and of course...some time at the lake. Brent, Kristen, and I went out to Lake Stryker to hang out with the Broadways and whole bunch of other random people for wakeboarding, wading, and lounging around. it was a blast!!!

Day 53
For mothers day Kristen and I wanted to take mom for a spa day to thank her for being such an amazing blessing during this past crazy year. The best day for us all to get off from work was the 3rd so today we took mom over to Tyler for some WELL DESERVED pampering.

Day 52
our softball season is roaring on. we've aquired some employees who are becoming other important jobs for the team....we have a team mom, team mascot, and what all star sports team would be complete without its own paparazzi :)

Day 51
Brent had a final review today meaning the end of the first part of summer session. therefore we decided to call up some friends and have a nice relaxing dinner at Cheddars. the pic makes it seem like a nice serene day doesnt it :)

Day 50
today was Nathans last day at work so we had a party for him basically through the whole lunch hours. after pigging out to then take a lunch break i couldnt sit in the back lounge for an hour with nothing to do....so i decided my time would be better spent meandering around Michaels seeing what fun crafts there were to be made...i was astounded at these "festive" piggy banks if i do say so myself......any child would just "love" these gems!

Day 49
So after 6 months starting at weird angled pictures and pictures of the people that come with the frames i decided to have a "frame filling" afternoon. i took care of the wall mural as well as the 2 big frames in our bedroom. i feel since we never got around to painting we should at least have made it to filling up all the blank frames in the house...enjoy!
